We made the move from Boston to San Diego in 2016, and lived there for three amazing years. After growing up in Massachusetts and Vermont, we were more than happy to get to the sunny weather of Southern California.
We lived in both Pacific Beach and La Jolla where we enjoyed the beautiful beaches, nature hikes, and so much delicious Mexican food! We even took numerous excursions over the border to Mexico as we were so close.

Location: California is located on the West Coast of the USA along the Pacific Ocean. It borders Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and Mexico.
Language: English is the official language of California, but you’ll find Spanish widely spoken.
Seasons: The best part of this state is the incredible weather! It stays warm and sunny year-round in Southern California with very little rain.
However, in the north, you’ll find it gets cold and windy during the wintertime. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather if you’re heading to cities like San Francisco.
What to Eat & Drink: California has a wide variety of food to enjoy. Yet, the main star of the show is the tacos! Be sure to eat as much Mexican cuisine as possible, and try other tasty international food on your visit.
