Brigitte has family in the North Rhine-Westphalia and spent a lot of time there growing up. We’ve now been to Germany several times together, and fell in love with the food, nature, and exciting cities.
Our first Germany trip was in 2018 when we took a lovely drive on the Romantic Road. This included stops in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, famous Neuschwanstein Castle, and much more. Another amazing road trip we’ve done was along the Alpine Road which crosses into Austria.
Many travelers will start their journey by flying into Berlin or Munich and renting a car. From there, you can drive through the stunning lake towns, or even do some skiing during the winter.

What to Eat & Drink: German cuisine is so delicious! It features endless hearty meat dishes, root vegetables, and baked treats. The beer in Germany is considered the best in the world, and obviously worth trying on your visit!
