Brigitte has family in the North Rhine-Westphalia and spent a lot of time there growing up. We’ve now been to Germany several times together, and fell in love with the food, nature, and exciting cities.
Our first Germany trip was in 2018 when we took a lovely drive on the Romantic Road. This included stops in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, famous Neuschwanstein Castle, and much more. Another amazing road trip we’ve done was along the Alpine Road which crosses into Austria.
This past summer, we headed back to Germany to explore the beautiful towns of the Moselle region. We also made visits to historic cities like Dusseldorf and Cologne, which we absolutely loved.
Many travelers will start their journey by flying into Berlin or Munich and renting a car. From there, you can drive through the stunning lake towns, or even do some skiing during the winter.
Truly, there is so much to see and do in this vast European country. When starting to plan out your Germany travel, there are definitely a few things you should know first.
