Planning a trip to Poland? It’s easy to see why this has become such a popular destination in Europe! Here’s where you can find our best Poland travel tips, food guides, and much more.
Our first Poland trip was back in 2018 on a three day layover in Gdansk. After exploring the colorful streets and eating at the traditional milk bars, we knew it wouldn’t be long before we returned to this amazing country.
In 2019, we made our way back! We started off in the big city of Krakow and spent a few days taking in the sights. After visiting the famous Wawel Royal Castle, we created our own weekend food tour and tasted so many delicious Polish dishes.
Once we had fully experienced Krakow, we headed north to the mountain town of Zakopane. This is where we took some incredible hikes including Kasprowy Wierch and Morskie Oko.
Check out our Poland travel guides for tips, and to hear all about our experiences. We’re already planning another Poland trip soon, so stay tuned!
Money: The currency used here is the Polish Zloty.
Location: Poland is located in Central Europe along the Baltic Sea coast. It borders Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, and Russia
Language: Polish is spoken throughout the country.
Seasons: Due to the harsh winters, the best time to visit Poland is during the warm summer months. However, this also draws in large crowds to the cities and nature hikes. Traveling here in the spring and fall for shoulder season is a great way to avoid tourists.
What to Eat & Drink: Polish food is absolutely delicious! We honestly can’t say enough about the cuisine in this country. Some of our favorite dishes include pierogi, kielbasa, and all the hearty soups available. It also comes at a fraction of the cost for similar meals in neighboring countries.
