Planning a trip to the island of Paros Greece? Here’s where you can find the best things to do, Paros travel tips, and read all about our own experiences.
Greece is one of our favorite countries in Europe, and we’ve now been to over 20 different islands. Yet, Paros is a destination that we continue to go back to time and time again.
We’ve now been to Paros Island three times over the past several years. On our last visit, we had just spent a few days exploring the beaches and winding mountain roads of Naxos. From there, we took the quick ferry ride over to Paros Greece.
From the moment you pull into the port of Parikia, you will be blown away by the beauty of Paros Island. However, as you’ll find out, there’s so much more to discover!
One of the main draws to Paros is its unique beaches. There’s everything from golden sand to rocky coves, and a spot to give yourself a natural clay body treatment.
The capital of Parikia is certainly worth exploring, but don’t miss out on the small mountain villages and coastal towns. Two of our absolute favorites are Naousa and Lefkes.
If you have time, you can even take a boat ride to Antiparos Island next door. Check out all our best Paros guides and travel tips in the articles below.
Money: The Euro is used throughout Greece.
Location: Paros is located in the Aegean Sea. It’s part of the Cyclades island group and easily reached by flight or ferry.
Language: Greek is the official language of the country.
Seasons: The most popular time to visit is during the warm summer months. This is when you can take advantage of the stunning beaches, fun boat tours, and outdoor activities.
Nevertheless, our advice is to plan your Paros trip during shoulder season. By visiting outside the peak months of July and August, you’ll find less crowds and still very pleasant temperatures.
What to Eat & Drink: The cuisine on Paros is so delicious! You’ll find all the Greek classics and plenty of tasty specialties at the local tavernas and bakeries.
