As you’ll see on our website, we haven’t spent a ton of time in the Southern USA. Most of our U.S. content is around New England, the Hawaiian Islands, or from our time spent living in California. Still, over the years, we’ve done so many fun road trips around the country!
Our travels recently took us to South Carolina where we visited some friends in Murrells Inlet. This fun town sits on the Atlantic Ocean, and is filled with beaches, great local restaurants, and so many things to do.
One place not to miss is Atalaya Castle at Huntington Beach State Park. We even took a stroll on the Marshwalk which was one of the highlights of our South Carolina vacation.

Just beware of the humid temperatures of the summer, and hurricane season between June and November.
What to Eat & Drink: This state has an underrated food scene that every traveler will love! We recommend tasting a low country boil, seafood specialties, and all the BBQ you can get your hands on!
