Brigitte grew up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, and we’ve spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful towns in the western part of the state. We actually met at university in Boston, so we make plenty of trips home to visit family and friends.
You’ll see that our Massachusetts guides cover this area the most, and take you through the best small New England towns and outdoor activities. The Berkshires are full of excellent hiking trails, museums, and delicious local food.
One of our favorite parts of this state is the coastline just north of Boston. We love visiting Gloucester, Rockport, Newburyport, and Plum Island. This area has some of the best beaches and seafood around, so make sure to include it in your Massachusetts trip!

Location: Massachusetts is part of New England which is located in the northeastern United States. It shares borders with New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York.
Language: English is the official language in Massachusetts.
Seasons: The best part of Massachusetts is that you get all four seasons! The most popular time to visit is during the warm months of summer, and fall for the changing of the leaves. You can also do some skiing in the winter months.
What to Eat & Drink: Massachusetts has a wide variety of cuisine to enjoy. One of the reasons we love visiting in the fall is to taste the cider, baked treats, and pumpkin specialties of the season. Also, make sure to try all the fresh seafood dishes in the towns along the Atlantic Ocean.
