Is 360 Rooftop Bar the Best View in Madrid? (Our Tips!)

360 Rooftop Bar Madrid

Wondering how to get the best view of Spain’s capital city? 360 rooftop bar Madrid sits atop Hotel Riu Plaza Espana, and holds panoramic views for as far as the eye can see. However, there are some things to know before you go. Read all about our experience at Sky Bar 360 Madrid, and a few important tips for your own visit.

Our Trip to 360 Rooftop Bar Madrid

As we just mentioned, 360 rooftop bar is located at the top of the Hotel Riu Plaza Espana. You can easily walk from the city center or jump in a quick cab if you are on the other side of town.

We had just spent the morning exploring the city on a Walks Tour (here’s the one we did). This included a visit to Madrid’s Grand Palace and the Prado Museum. We also took a Devour food tour later that day which you can read about here

Since we had already walked a ton during our tour that morning, we decided to take an Uber ride. Surprisingly, it was only 6 Euros for a taxi. This saved us the 30 minute walk to the Hotel Riu Madrid rooftop from the famous art museum.

How Much Does 360 Rooftop Bar Madrid Cost?

This will depend on exactly when you arrive at the hotel. Know that there are actually two different prices for 360 rooftop bar Madrid.

We arrived earlier in the afternoon so it was only 5 euros each. Yet, later in the day it goes up to 10 Euros. The only way to avoid this extra cost is if you’re a guest staying at the Hotel Riu Plaza Espana (book the hotel).

The rooftop bar is opened everyday from 11am to 1am, with the last entry being midnight. See the complete list of times and prices at Sky Bar 360 Madrid below.

Monday to Friday

11am-5pm: 5 Euros

5pm-1am: 10 Euros

Saturday & Sunday

11am to 1am: 10 Euros

There is also a rooftop express pass available for an extra cost if you’d like to skip the lines. From how the queue was set up in the lobby it must get busy at certain times.

We were very lucky on our visit that there was no line. Still, it was quite crowded once we got to the actual rooftop.

After paying the admission ticket, you don’t technically have to buy anything else on the 360 Sky Bar Madrid rooftop. As you’ll see though, you may want to grab a snack and stay awhile once you see this epic view!

If you’re heading here at night then we recommend making a reservation online beforehand. On the official website you can book the Sky Bar 360 Madrid and pay 22.50 Euro.

This includes the entrance fee, a table, and one drink. Keep in mind the reservation for the table is only good for one hour.

Unless you plan to go for sunset, it’s best to go right when they open like we did. That way you can pay the discounted price of just 5 Euros, and get in before the crowds.

Heading to the Hotel Riu Madrid Rooftop

Once you buy your tickets, you can head straight to the elevator. This will take you to the top floor of Hotel Riu Plaza Espana.

From there, you’ll walk through a hallway where you can see into the Eden Gastroba restaurant. After that, there will be a staircase which takes you to the rooftop.

There is a front desk here which will direct you before you head outside. You’ll find tables to eat at, bar seats, and more general seating all around the edges.

You aren’t allowed to walk around with drinks like you would at normal bar so you’ll need to be seated if you’d like to order something. Each seat has a QR code on it, and corresponding table number to order directly to your seat.

Sky Bar 360 Madrid Views

There is a viewing platform at the top of the stairs which people line up for to take pictures. This terrace is known as one of the best views of Madrid! Nevertheless, our favorite photo spot is on the opposite side of 360 Sky Bar Madrid.

Here there is a glass walkway which connects the two sides of the rooftop bar. For those who aren’t terrified of heights, this can be an awesome place to grab pictures.

Just to the left of that is a fantastic place to get seated for a drink. You can overlook the mountains with a beer and take it all in. The Sierra de Guadarrama even had snow on the peaks when we were there in mid-March!

Beer and wine was slightly more expensive than it would be in a local bar in Madrid. Yet, considering it was still only 5 euros for a beer with this incredible view, we weren’t complaining!

We grabbed some drinks and tapas and were in no rush to leave. It was easy to see why the 360 Rooftop Bar in Madrid is a great place to visit with a group of friends, or to quickly stop in for photos while exploring the city.
