Javea is well known for having some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca in Spain. Yet, many travelers don’t realize that there is an amazing food scene to go with it! After many months of eating our way around town, we’re excited to share a complete guide to the best restaurants in Javea Spain, from the port and old town to Arenal beach.
Finding the Best Restaurants in Javea Spain
We’ve spent a lot of time visiting Javea over the last few years, which has given us plenty of time to taste some delightful Spanish cuisine.
The restaurants in Javea are a mix of delicious Valencian and international plates. That means you can find everything from traditional paella and tapas to pad thai, or even a full English breakfast!
The first thing you should know is that there are three distinct areas of Javea to explore. There are great restaurants around the long, sandy Playa del Arenal, next to the fishing port (La Grava Beach), and of course, through the winding streets of Javea Old Town.
To make things easier, we’ve cut up our Javea restaurants guide into these three areas. They are a mix of tapa bars, local restaurants, and beach bars, so there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Javea Arenal Restaurants
This is the largest beach in Javea and the spot to be in the summertime! There are dozens of restaurants both right on the boardwalk and tucked back from the sandy beach.
The Javea Arenal restaurants are definitely more touristy and cater to the international crowd. We should also note that some of them are owned by the same business (Javea Company), so you may see similar menus.
1. Austriaco Cafe Wien: Javea’s beloved Austrian bakery. Great place for a coffee and slice of cake in the afternoon.
2. La Fontana: Serving up some of the best food in Javea since 1963. We love both breakfast and dinner here.
3. Geographic: Lounge-style seating with comfortable couches indoors. Nice idea for a coffee or to do remote work from.
4. Bohemians: One of our favorite Javea restaurants with a view. Located right above La Bambula with an upscale menu.
5. Octopus Taverna: The only “dive bar” on the strip. The fried squid here goes perfectly with an ice-cold beer.
6. La Bambula: The best spot for sunset drinks in Javea! Also, be sure to check out the live music, especially the flamingo performer on Sunday evenings.
7. Chabada: One of the most popular Javea restaurants, and for good reason! Awesome place for a drink with both Spanish and international cuisine.
8. Monsoon Thai: Up for some Thai food? This place has got you covered! We recommend the papaya salad, whole fish, and different curry bowls.
Javea Port Restaurants
Just up the coast from Arenal is the beautiful port of Javea. There is the stunning pebbly beach of La Grava with great restaurants all around it.
One thing we love about the Javea port restaurants is that they’re located right next to the local fish market. This is where fresh fish comes in everyday, with much of it going directly to the nearby eateries.
9. Taberna Andares Ibéricos: Local tapas bar with Jamon legs hanging from the ceiling. This our go-to tapas spot and we love hitting the movie theatre across the street before or after.
10. Mira Luna: Our favorite coffee place in the port! Also, a nice spot for brunch with a view of the beach.
11. La Cantina de Javea: This Javea restaurant is literally connected to the fish market. Just make sure to call in your order a few days in advance during the summer and on weekends if you’d like paella.
12. Restaurante Azorín: Tucked just back from the beach, this is no-frills Spanish restaurant that is really tasty. Order their plato del dia here if you’re extra hungry.
13. CalaViuda: One of the most popular Javea port restaurants along the promenade. We love their pizzas, seafood, and asian fusion dishes.
14. Attico Restaurante: Located on the top floor of the Javea Hotel with some of the best views in town. Great spot for an upscale plate of the day for around 20 Euros.
15. Royal Ghurka: There is a surprising amount of good Indian food in Javea, but this is the one we truly enjoy the most. Pleasant atmosphere and nice portions for the price.
16. Javea Express: Lively local spot with delicious tostadas and quiches. One of our personal favorites for a quick breakfast.

From there, you can explore the colorful streets and find your own tasty treats. Don’t miss out on the outdoor weekly market that’s held here every Thursday.
17. Cafetería – L’Encant: Our favorite spot for a coffee and bocadillo. Located directly across from the Thursday market and plaza de constitution. We especially like sitting outside under the shady trees. They’re also known for having one of the best caracoles pastries in town.
