Portes Lithos Luxury Resort: Our 5 Star Stay in Halkidiki Greece

Portes Lithos Luxury Resort Greece

Are you looking for the ultimate luxury hotel in Halkidiki? We recently stayed at the 5 star Portes Lithos Luxury Resort, and had such a great time! The two nights we spent here were easily a highlight of our entire trip to the region. Here’s what to know about Portes Lithos hotel in Halkidiki, all about our experience, and why you won’t want to leave!

How to Get to Portes Lithos Halkidiki

One of the best parts about Portes Lithos Luxury Resort is its fantastic location. The 5 star hotel sits at the very start of the famous Kassandra peninsula.

This makes it easy to get to from Thessaloniki (50 minutes driving), or practically anywhere in Halkidiki! We actually rented a car after spending a fun day in the city, and ended our road trip at Portes Lithos Resort.

Check current prices here and be sure to read our guide to renting a car in Halkidiki. It was the perfect way to cap off an incredible week in Halkidiki with a luxury stay! We also appreciated how simple it was to get to the airport from here and return our rental car.

And don’t worry! If you’re not planning to rent a car, the hotel can provide a transfer service for an additional charge.

Our Stay at Portes Lithos Luxury Resort

As we mentioned, we ended our one week Halkidiki itinerary by staying at Portes Lithos hotel. Over the course of seven days, we stayed on all three peninsulas around the region.

This was an awesome way to experience Northern Greece, as each of the “three fingers” brought something different. Kassandra is particularly known for its abundance of luxury resorts, so we were excited to get a taste of this at Portes Lithos!

We arrived to the hotel early in the evening after exploring Sithonia. It was an epic two days driving up and down the middle peninsula hitting so many beautiful beaches.

Our travels even took us to the ancient city of Stagira which is the birthplace of Aristotle. At this point, we were pretty exhausted, and more than ready to relax at a 5 star resort!

From the moment we entered the lobby we could tell we were in for an amazing stay. Upon check-in, we were even greeted with two sparkling glasses of champagne. That’s the only way to begin a luxury retreat, right??

Spacious Rooms

After we finished our glasses we were brought to our room. We stayed in the double room with a sea view on the first floor.

The room was larger than we thought it would be, and we loved being able to walk right out to the beach and pool area. The bed was as comfortable as you’d expect at a 5 star luxury resort. The bathroom was also a nice size and came with high-quality shampoos and soaps.

Right next door, we noticed other double rooms had a shared pool connected that you could swim up right up. There are two other room types you should know about as well if you’re planning a stay.

In addition to the double rooms, Portes Lithos Halkidiki also has junior suites and loft suites available. The loft suites are the best options if you’re visiting this hotel with a family.

We’re not sure about you… But the first thing we do when we get to a hotel like this is throw on our robes! It was time to truly relax and enjoy our last days in Halkidiki.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Yet, if there’s one thing we could change, we would’ve reserved a room on the 2nd floor for a better view. We actually did ask for this when checking in, but they were completely sold out!

Now that you know about the room situation, we can tell you about our favorite part of Portes Lithos Luxury Resort. The main pool is stunning and we literally spent all afternoon here.

It’s location at the front of the hotel makes it easy to walk between here and the beach. There is also a kids pool and a full bar and restaurant for drinks or lunch.

We had a delicious Greek Salad here and sandwich on our 2nd day as we didn’t feel like leaving the property. If you need any other snacks or personal items, there is a small minimart inside the campground next door.

The one thing we will say is that you should get here early to get a sun lounger! Even in Mid-may before the peak season, people were out early to get a good spot by the pool.

The Beach at Portes Lithos Luxury Resort

You didn’t think we forgot about the beach did you? Honestly, it was hard to drag ourselves away from the pool and room at times. Still, we did leave plenty of time at night to see the magical Halkidiki sunset.

The water is crystal clear and the chairs are a good place to park yourself on the long sandy beach. This was much different than many of the beaches we visited on Sithonia which were small and pebbly.

It was such a fun switch up from the pool, that we went up and down to the beach multiple times. If you’re up for some adventure after relaxing, you can also take advantage of the water activities available.

Aquaride has everything from jet skis to stand up paddleboarding, and even fishing trips! As you can see, a vacation at Portes Lithos Luxury Resort is whatever you want to make it.

Amazing Dinner & Breakfast

Another feature of Portes Lithos that really made made our time special was the dining. On both nights of our stay we enjoyed dinner at the stunning Alyki Restaurant.

Trust us when we say this is one of the best buffet spreads we’ve ever had! Typically, we aren’t drawn to this type of dining at luxury resorts.

However, the food options here at the large buffet really blew us away. For dinner, there were a mix of local Greek specialties and fusion dishes which made for an incredible fine dining experience.

We especially loved the meat carving station and dessert selection. You can opt to pay for meals individually, or choose the all inclusive package which includes food and drinks.

Also, make sure not to skip out on breakfast! The buffet was again impressive both mornings, and was the perfect start to our day.

Should You Stay at Portes Lithos Luxury Resort?

Yes! This was our favorite place we stayed in all of Halkidiki. So often, it can be tough for hotels to live up to the 5 star expectations. Yet, Portes Lithos really lived up to the hype in every aspect.

When you factor in the location at the tip of Kassandra and all the luxurious features and amenities, this is a no brainer. Be sure to book far in advance if you’re visiting in the peak summer months. We were surprised to hear they were sold out in May, but it’s easy to see why!
