Karidi Beach is one of the most popular in Sithonia, and all of Halkidiki Greece! It draws in tourists for white sand, unique rocks, and all around fun vibes. We made a visit there during our trip to Northern Greece, and are happy to share all about our experience. So is Karidi the best beach in Sithonia? Here’s everything you need to know!
How to Get to Karidi Beach in Halkidiki
Karidi Beach is located on the Sithonia Peninsula of Halkidiki. Its position near the top of the “second leg” makes it easy to visit from anywhere in this region.
The best way to get to Karidi Beach is by renting a car. We actually picked ours up in Thessaloniki and included Karidi as part of a larger road trip. Check out our 7 Day Halkidiki itinerary here, and be sure to read all about our epic day in Thessaloniki!
We always use this website to find the best rental car deals and sort through companies. After our trip to Karidi Beach, we spent two wonderful nights at Lagomadra Hotel.
This amazing seafront accommodation was the perfect spot to get to all the sites around Sithonia. From Karidi Beach you’ll be close to Kavourotrypes, and so many other awesome swimming spots.

Our Trip to Karidi Beach Sithonia
Our day started bright and early to head to what’s known as the best beach in Sithonia. We were actually supposed to be on the first ferry from Ammouliani that morning.
Yet, as you can see here, we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave this special island so soon! Luckily, the drive from the first to second leg in Halkidiki isn’t that far.
We only had a couple of hours here with our packed itinerary, but we easily could’ve spent all day at Karidi Beach. The parking lot was packed with cars of beachgoers already in mid-May.
After parking at the far end near Melia Restaurant, we made the two minute walk to Karidi Beach. From the moment we stepped onto the soft white sands, we couldn’t believe our eyes. This was paradise!
Aside from its natural beauty, one thing that’s unique about Karidi Beach is that it’s free from sun loungers. As some of the most popular Greek beaches it’s typical to see dozens of chairs set up for rent.
However, here at Karidi Beach Sithonia, you can find your own room to spread out. We quickly laid our towels down and wasted no time diving into the crystal clear Aegean Sea!
Unique Rocks of Karidi
That brings us to our next point about Karidi Beach! The main part of it is surrounded by stunning white rocks that flank the beach.
Know that the actual sandy area is not that large. You’ll want to get here early to get a spot if you’re visiting in the peak summer months.
Nevertheless, there are some other spots to set your towel or chairs down. The rock formations around Karidi Beach are filled with small coves and nice seating areas with a view.
You can even walk over the rocks to get to other beaches on either side. Keep an eye out for the food truck set up with snacks and drinks as you walk down.
Is Karidi the Best Beach in Sithonia?
Well, that’s a tough question… Sithonia does have almost 100 beaches after all!
Since we had just one week in Halkidiki, it would’ve been impossible to see them all for ourselves. With that said, Karidi Beach was easily a highlight of our time here.
We loved walking around the rocks on the nature trails and taking in the scenery. The water is absolutely magical, and the turquoise color is something out of a dream.

More Things to See in Sithonia Greece
Sithonia was our favorite of the three peninsulas in Halkidiki. In addition to Karidi Beach, Fava, Kavourotrypes, Satri, Zografou, and heart-shaped beach are all must-visits.
However, know that some of the best places you will discover on your own! Don’t limit yourself to the most popular beaches if you’re using a car to get around.
For those up for an adventure, Sithonia has a great network of hiking trails to check out. You can even rent a kayak from Surf Vourvourou and get out on the water.
Be sure to visit the historic settlement of Nikiti which is around a 20 minute drive to Karadi Beach. There are a number of great restaurants at the Nikiti beaches to stop for lunch. We got Gyros from O Gyros Tis Nikitis and they really hit the spot!

This was such a great write up, thank you! We are headed to Greece later this year and I now have to go see these white rocks that are on the beach! I bookmarked this post.
