Did you know that some of the best restaurants in Hoi An also double as an epic rooftop bar or cafe? That’s right! You can enjoy a coffee or ice cold beer with a view of one of the most magical places in all of Vietnam. On all our trips to Hoi An old town, the rooftop bars and cafes have been an essential part of the day. It’s a perfect break from exploring the streets, and experiencing the sights and sounds of this beautiful area. So after way too many coffee and drinks we’ve come up with a list of our favorite spots! Who’s thirsty??
6 Best Rooftop Bars & Cafes in Hoi An
Kha My Cafe
Hours: 6:30am-10pm
Serving: Coffee and Light Snacks
Location: Kha My Cafe
Set right on the river close to town, the Kha My Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Hoi An to have a coffee. Our favorite way to start the day was riding bicycles here, and looking out over the nature as the boats pass by.
The thing that separates Kha My from the rest of the rooftop cafes in Hoi An is its jungle-like atmosphere. The entire place is literally covered in flowers and plants! From the 2nd floor you’ll have an amazing environment to hang out and take in the scenery.
Our Favorite: Iced Coffee Topped with Coconut Ice Cream (50,000 VND)
Market Bar (Market Terrace)
Hours: 4pm-11pm
Serving: Full Menu and Drinks
Location: Market Terrace
Looking for a Hoi An restaurant right in old town? Market Bar is at the center of all the action overlooking a busy intersection and the local vegetable market. The new age design blends perfectly with the energy down below, which gives you an interesting perspective from your barstool.
While they do have the usual Vietnamese beers, Market Bar is one of the few places that also features craft beer and wine as well. This Hoi An rooftop bar has a lovable vibe and good music, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself ordering more than one drink!
Our Favorite: White Wine and Local Cider
The Chef Restaurant & Cafe
Hours: 8am-10pm
Serving: Full Menu and Drinks
Location: The Chef Restaurant & Cafe
Bookstore or Hoi An rooftop bar? The first time we walked into this unique establishment we were wondering just that! The first floor is filled with books, art, and other gifts, but when you walk upstairs you’ll see it has much more to offer.
From the 3rd floor you’ll have a gorgeous view of Hoi An old town and all its colorful architecture. The Chef offers dinner and fancy cocktail drinks, but cheap beers are also available. This makes it one of the best restaurants in Hoi An, and the perfect place to watch the sunset.
Our Favorite: Larue Beer or Cocktail with Free Peanuts (30,000 – 120,000 VND)
Hoi An Roastery
Hours: 7am-10pm
Serving: Coffee and Dessert
Location: Hoi An Roastery
Could we even write an article about coffee without mentioning the Hoi An Roastery? It’s hard not to run into this old town staple as they have 7 different locations in and around Hoi An. We enjoyed many Cafe Sua Da’s at their riverside location while overlooking the water from the second story patio.
Our Favorite: Cafe Sua Da (50,000 VND)
Faifo Coffee
Hours: 8am-9:30pm
Serving: Coffee and Light Snacks
Location: Faifo Coffee
Faifo Coffee is a favorite Hoi An restaurant among tourists for its 3rd floor viewing deck perched above the bustling streets. Another awesome feature about this place is that when you order your coffee they bring it out to you to make yourself.
This way you can see the process of the Vietnam drip filter, and then enjoy it with the best view in town. Just don’t be surprised when there is one or two impromptu photo shoots happening around you!
Our Favorite: Traditional Vietnamese Coffee (40,000 VND)
92 Station Restaurant & Cafe
Hours: 6:30am – 10:30pm
Serving: Coffee, Drinks, and Full Menu
Location: 92 Station Restaurant & Cafe
While Faifo Coffee may have a great view, the best in all of central Vietnam is just up the street! This is by far the highest Hoi An rooftop cafe as its top floor has a 360 view of ancient town and beyond. The decor of the entire Hoi An restaurant is beautiful, and mixes classic with a fun upscale look.
Our Favorite: Local Beer of Vietnam
