Have you ever stayed in a private tropical pool villa?! There are so many great resorts in Krabi that it can be overwhelming, especially on Ao Nang Beach! Luckily, we chose to spend two nights at Krabi Resort and had the experience of a lifetime. Here’s everything you need to know when searching for Krabi hotels and why having your own pool villa is truly paradise!
Krabi Resort at Ao Nang Beach
Krabi Resort is set in the center of beautiful Ao Nang Thailand. With its location on the far end of the main beach, it actually feels hidden away from the rest of the hotels in Krabi. Still, you’ll find it’s just steps away from all the best restaurants and nightlife.
One of the main draws of the property is that it’s one of the only Krabi resorts that has its own beach access. Yes, that’s right! You can stroll right from your room down to the shores of Ao Nang.
There are many different pools, styles of rooms, and facilities to use like the gym and kids center. Our experience is based on a stay in their tropical pool villa which we highly recommend. The only problem with having a Krabi pool villa is that it will be difficult to leave you room!
How to Get to Krabi Resort
We arrived a little bit early at Krabi Resort on the day of our booking. Having been staying in Ao Nang Beach already, we simply dropped our bags and took a walk to find lunch on the main street.
Immediately, we were loving the great location close to the strip. After staying at some more remote accommodations during our time in Thailand it was nice to have everything we needed nearby.
It will cost you just 100 Baht to get pretty much anywhere around Ao Nang if you don’t feel like walking. The beach is only around 45 minutes from the Krabi International Airport, and a convenient 30 minute drive from Krabi town. For more information on Ao Nang be sure to check out the article below!

Krabi Resort Tropical Pool Villa
What do you imagine when you think about a tropical pool villa? Our mind was really wandering before we saw it in real life! The villas at Krabi Resort are massive one bedroom apartments with the private pool being the star of the show.
When you first walk in there is a living room area with an L shaped couch and large flat screen TV. Straight ahead is the pool with two sun beds. The bathroom has a tub, shower, and dressing area. Moving onto the bedroom, you’ll find a large desk and comfortable bed overlooking the pool.
Right away, we opened all the doors, threw on our bathing suites, and jumped in the water. We had made it to Krabi pool villa paradise!
The only word of warning about leaving the doors open is we did see a sign about monkeys. These furry friends can be seen all around Ao Nang Beach. Although there are pretty high walls surrounding the villa, you may not want to risk having them inside your room!
Romantic Dinner on the Beach
After checking into our Krabi pool villa the rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing, swimming, and enjoying the room. Just before sunset we headed down to the beach where we had dinner booked through the hotel restaurant.
Krabi Resort set up a super romantic dinner during sunset for us! They even put candles leading up to our table in the shape of a heart. We drank wine, ate delicious lamb, and watched as the colors changed in the sky. The scene literally felt like something out of a movie.
While many guests preferred to have dinner later on, we highly recommend doing it during sunset. Nothing will be more special than a beachfront meal during golden hour!
Floating Breakfast at Our Krabi Pool Villa
If you have a private pool villa while traveling in Southeast Asia then floating breakfast is a must. We have seen countless photos of others lounging in their pool and enjoying a breakfast spread, but had never done it ourselves!
Just after 9am we received a call that our floating breakfast was on its way. One thing that made the experience even more mind-blowing is that they arrived to our villa with the tray in a tuk tuk! Truly something you’d only see in Thailand.
After taking photos (because who wouldn’t!) it was time to dig in. Honestly, this could have easily fed 3 or 4 people with all the different items.
We even had to put some of our sweet treats in the fridge for later! We’re not sure how many other resorts in Krabi offer a floating breakfast, but it definitely was a highlight of our time at the tropical pool villa.
Cooking Class at Krabi Resort
In the afternoon we headed back towards the beach where it was time for our cooking class. We were so excited! Learning how to cook local specialties is one of our favorite things to do abroad.
Our Thai chef has been cooking his entire life and was great explaining the process step by step. We started off making a chicken coconut satay with a spicy peanut and chili vinegar dipping sauce. Then we made Tom Yum and Tom Kha soup! Finally, we ended with a classic shrimp fried rice.
Although we were tasting each meal as we cooked, we saved everything for afterwards to eat while overlooking the ocean. It was so fun to be able to eat traditional Thai food we actually made ourselves!

The rest of our afternoon was all about relaxing. We took a long walk down the beach, went to a happy hour bar in town, but ultimately ended up back at Krabi Resort.
The end of our day was spent at our private pool villa swimming and laying in our sun beds. Can you blame us after seeing what this room looked like??
Should You Stay at Krabi Resort?
Yes, 100%! If you couldn’t tell, we LOVED our tropical pool villa at Krabi Resort. This was a unique experience and something we suggest for travel couples, a honeymoon, or any special occasion. We really enjoyed the privacy of having our own pool.
Just so you know, there are two other large pools to enjoy at Krabi Resort. This part of the hotel caters more towards families on vacation, so there’s something for everyone. Also, you will appreciate the great location near everything on Ao Nang Beach.
After your trip to Ao Nang be sure to take the 15 minute boat ride over to Railay Beach! Read all about our boat ride there here and check out our top tips and things to do.
