How to Get to Uluwatu Bali
Your trip to Uluwatu will likely start by flying into Ngurah Rai International Airport (read this post for how to find get cheap flights). From there, it’s easy to set up a private airport transfers to get to the area which is around a 45-minute drive. If you happen to be arriving during rush hour then don’t be surprised if the ride takes a bit longer.
Another option is to use the Grab taxi app or hire a local driver when leaving the airport. There is a ride share stand when you walk outside to help with the pickups.
The one issue you might have when getting a driver is that the airport’s free wifi is terrible. If you don’t see them immediately it can be difficult to connect.
We highly recommend getting an e-sim for Indonesia so you can be ready to go as soon as you land. You can set up a one week or one month plan with this popular company before you arrive.
If you’re coming from the Gili Islands or Nusa Penida by ferry then you’ll likely be arriving into Padang Bai Harbour. From here it will take 1.5 to 2 hours to get to many of the best Uluwatu hotels.
