Ready for all the best Uluwatu restaurants and cafes? It doesn’t matter if you plan to be in the area for a few days or months at a time! From local warungs to upscale eateries, you’ll have no problem finding great food options in this part of Bali. Uluwatu has become super popular over the years with surfers, digital nomads, and travelers living out their tropical holiday dreams. Here’s some of our favorite restaurants in Uluwatu Bali and exactly what to order when you go!
Guide to the Best Uluwatu Restaurants
The first thing to know about Uluwatu is that it’s very large and spread out. You’ll see immediately that it’s much less congested than other popular towns like Canggu and Kuta. With that said, you will need to rent a motorbike (here’s what to know first) or utilize the Grab taxi app to get around.
We’ve made many visits to the island in the past few years and even spent a couple of months living in Uluwatu. While there are awesome places to eat in most of Bali, we found the Uluwatu restaurants to be unmatched.
This guide will take you through all the best restaurants in Uluwatu that we truly enjoyed. Bali is extremely affordable for travelers, and you’ll get exquisite meals for a fraction of the cost in your home country.
Whether you’re after a healthy breakfast, local Indonesian food, or just a cold coconut on Bingin Beach, there are endless choices to discover. Also, be sure to check out our favorite places to stay in Uluwatu below on your next vacation.

Working Remote From the Uluwatu Cafes & Restaurants
Many people who stay in the area longterm are working remote from Bali. This is a great area for digital nomads and it’s easy to make friends with other ex-pats around town.
At many of the best Uluwatu cafes, it’s common to see travelers with their laptops out working hard throughout the day. In this article, we’ll tell you about some of our favorite places we worked from that also had delicious food and drinks.
Most Uluwatu restaurants have very fast wifi for working remotely. However, we still recommend getting a sim card (like this popular one) in case you need to hot spot yourself.
Vegan & Vegetarian Uluwatu Restaurants
One of the reasons many travelers love Bali is that the restaurants have tons of veggie and vegan options! We’re not vegetarian, but tend to eat more of these healthy meals when traveling in Southeast Asia.
You could visit any of the restaurants we mentioned and find multiple vegan plates to pick from! If certain dishes have meat, you can always ask to substitute it for tofu or tempe, too.
Lunch Specials at the Uluwatu Restaurants
One thing we didn’t realize before visiting is that many of the Uluwatu restaurants have discounted lunch deals. We would go to District 6 and La Baracca all the time for a cheap meal.
These spots are normally more expensive around dinner time so mid-afternoon is a great time to go. Be sure to ask when you’re out and about and keep an eye for signs that display their specials.
17 Best Uluwatu Restaurants in Bali
1. Suka Espresso
This is definitely one of our favorite Uluwatu restaurants, and maybe the best in all of Southern Bali. At first, we didn’t stop in because it was always too busy to get a table. Yet, once we finally had our first breakfast at Suka Espresso we were hooked!
This is a great place for a morning meal or light lunch. It’s always slammed for dinner so keep that in mind before you go.
The coffee is superb and the pastries will make your head spin. We were especially partial to the the shakshouka, avocado toast, and eggs benedict breakfast.
The location is perfect as it’s right off the main drag across from the entrance to Thomas Beach. In addition to the great restaurant and cafe scene, Uluwatu also has some of the most beautiful beaches in Bali!
2. Yeye’s Warung
On our very first night in Uluwatu we went to Yeye’s Warung. From then on, we were there almost every other day for an incredible local meal!
If you’ve never heard of a “warung” they are traditional style Balinese restaurants which can be found all over the island. Pre-made Indonesian food is displayed at the counter and you can pick a scoop of whatever looks good to be loaded onto your plate.
This is the most traditional cooking you will find at the Uluwatu restaurants and often the cheapest places to eat. Meals range in price from $2-4 USD and the portions are massive.
It’s also a great way to load up on veggies and other healthy options! Here’s a quick guide to warungs in Bali if you’d like to learn more.
3. Warung Local
Warung Local became our go-to spot for lunch when we were living in Uluwatu. In fact, we loved it so much we would sometimes eat lunch there and grab a plate to go later for dinner.
Here they have great food at affordable prices that every traveler will love. This warung is newer and has a much more modern feel than others around Bali.
The first section is meat dishes which we typically would skip over for the tasty veggie options. Make sure to get some of the chili or lemongrass sauce to go with your meal.
You can also order off the large menu with popular Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng, mie goreng, and nasi campur. Some people are working from their computers, while most visitors are simply enjoying their lunch.
4. Land’s End Cafe
We stayed super close to Land’s End Cafe and would walk over and meet my sister here for breakfast. The food is good, but the smoothies are out of this world! More hits here include the dragonfruit smoothie bowl and scrambled eggs breakfast wrap.
Before leaving, we recommend buying some of their homemade chocolates. Just know that they are super addictive and you’ll likely be going back for more.
We specifically loved the peanut butter filled one, but they are all so good. Land’s End is only open till 3:30pm so plan to visit earlier in the day.
5. The Istana
Istana is more known for their beautiful spa, but it also doubles as one of the best Uluwatu restaurants. This became our go to spot to work from after getting a monthly membership.
It’s actually so exclusive you aren’t able to use phones or cameras inside. Picture a massive swimming pool, grassy lawn, and a cafe on the cliffs overlooking the sea.
At certain times of the day the spa opens up! This is when you can use the cold plunge, steam room, and sauna. So why are we mentioning this as one of the best Uluwatu restaurants?
Well, you can get a day pass (or monthly membership like we did) to take advantage of all the amenities. The other option is to pay for a restaurant credit to eat and enjoy the views.
6. Mana Uluwatu Restaurant & Bar
Mana is just next door to Istana and part of the Uluwatu Surf Villas. This is one of the top luxury hotels in the area and a great place to stay if you’re on vacation.
The large tables, sea views, and laid-back atmosphere make it an awesome spot to work remotely from in Bali. It has the feel of a high-end restaurant, but the menu prices won’t break the bank.
Another thing to know is there is a beautiful swimming pool on the hotel grounds. You can order food to the pool lounge chairs, or head here for their sunset happy hour!
7. La Baracca
As you can tell, the Uluwatu restaurants have an abundance of international cuisine in addition to local food. When you’re craving wood-fired pizzas or pasta then La Baracca is the place to go.
We ate at this Italian restaurant more times than we can count. Some days we even ordered pizza for pickup to take to the beach! If you plan to go for dinner, make a reservation to avoid a wait.
8. Jeffry Warung
Heading to watch the surfers at Suluban Beach? Then Jeffry Warung is the spot to be! The delicious menu is a bit different than a traditional warung with a fun mix of western dishes as well.
However, what makes this one of the best Uluwatu restaurants are the amazing views of the water. This is one of the most famous surfing spots in all of Indonesia, and it’s so fun to sit at the cliffside bars to watch all the action.

9. Ulu Garden
Ulu Garden is a restaurant we always find ourselves at when in Bali. There is a gorgeous outdoor space and they even have live music at night.
From the street, you may not even realize how nice and spacious this popular spot is out back. Our first visit here was for curry night which was absolutely delicious. They also make great cocktails and have a good wine list.
10. District 6
Next up on our best Uluwatu restaurants list is a more casual vibe for a quick lunch. District 6 has everything from breakfast dishes to large salads, burgers, and more. It’s mostly western food, but the healthy servings kept us coming back time and time again.
Once and while we would see someone working remote here. Yet, it’s not as common as some of the other Uluwatu cafes we’ve mentioned.
District 6 brings a variety of ex-pats in as they play international sporting events on TV. For the major soccer or rugby matches you may even want to book a table in advance.
11. Three Steps Coffee
This one is a bit further away from many of the Uluwatu restaurants as it’s right next to the Uluwatu Temple. Visiting this extraordinary temple is a must on your visit to Bali! We highly recommend going for sunset to experience the nightly Kecak fire and dance show.
Due to it’s location, Three Steps Coffee shop is often packed from open to close. They have a large menu with a mix of local and international dishes. We are really fond of the their smoothies and wraps. They also have salad bowls, pancakes, and baked goods.

12. Single Fin Bali
You can’t talk about the best Uluwatu Restaurants without mentioning Single Fin! To be honest, we’ve never been impressed with their food.
Nevertheless, it’s a such a fun place for a beer, cocktail, smoothie, or coffee. There are multiple levels overlooking the surf, a swimming pool, and an overall party vibe.
13. Drifter Surf Shop Cafe & Gallery
Drifter Cafe is exactly what it sounds like. When you first walk in you’ll pass through a large surf shop selling everything from t-shirts to wetsuits.
After this, it opens up to back area and morphs into one of the best restaurants in Uluwatu Bali. It’s fantastic location is in the middle of all the action in town. We made many trips here for a smoothie or to get a bottle of homemade Jamu juice to go.
14. The Bakery
Just across the street from Drifter is a small storefront called the Bakery. This is the perfect spot for a coffee or baked treat in the heart of Uluwatu.
Try one of the sweet cookies or brownies here when you need a mid-day pick me up. They also have fresh-baked bread that you can ask them to slice for you to take home.
15. Alchemy Uluwatu
This is easily one of the most popular Uluwatu restaurants! It became one of our favorite places to work from and eat lunch.
Alchemy is a vegan lovers dream with their smoothie bowls and large salad bar. The wide open outdoor space has tables sprinkled around and there is an air-conditioned area to cool off on a hot day.
16. Laggas Uluwatu
When we travel back to the island this is the first place we will head to. You may pass it on your scooter cruising through the backstreets of town if you’re not paying attention. Still, know that this is one of the very best restaurants in Uluwatu Bali!
Laggas combines local flavors with unique takes on dishes from all around Asia. Their stir-fried curry and crispy pork belly boat noodles are two meals that we still crave to this day.
17. Ulu Cliffhouse
How about dinner and a movie? If you’re looking for a fun night out in Bali then be sure to check out Ulu Cliffhouse!
It’s actually a luxury beach club that hosts all-night parties with a DJ and chill day events. Get in touch before your visit and ask about their movie nights.
Certain nights of the week they play a movie on a giant screen under the stars with panoramic views over the water. The best part is you can order anything from the menu to be delivered right to your lounge bed or table.
