Vietnam

Planning a trip to Vietnam? From the big cities to the beautiful national parks, this country has so many incredible destinations to discover! Here’s where you can find our best Vietnam travel tips, food guides, and much more.

Our first trip to Vietnam was back in 2016, and since then we haven’t been able to stay away. We visited the big cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and everywhere in between.

Over the years, we’ve always returned back and included it in our trips to Southeast Asia. We’ve traveled around Vietnam in every way possible, by bus, motorbike, and train! You can also take cheap domestic flights around the country which you can see from our numerous flight reviews.

You could spend weeks exploring the vast cities of Vietnam. However, some of our favorite experiences have been in the small towns and villages. Be sure to go to Hoi An if you’re heading to Central Vietnam!

There is so much incredible nature to see, with caves and rice fields to massive mountain peaks. We’ve even spent time on the beautiful beaches of Da Nang, and on the unique island of Phu Quoc.

While there is so much to see and do on a Vietnam trip, our favorite part of every visit is the street food. Vietnamese cuisine is not only cheap, but the noodle soups and local dishes will leave you craving more.

Check out our Vietnam guides for travel tips, and to hear all about our own visits. We’ve already written extensively about the country, but it won’t be long before we’re back!

Location: Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia and bordered by China, Laos, and Cambodia.

Language: Vietnamese is the language spoken throughout the country.

Seasons: Vietnam has both dry and wet seasons to be aware of. Yet, the weather can vary drastically depending on where you go. The best time to visit is from November to April to avoid the rains that come in other months.

What to Eat & Drink: Vietnamese food is unlike anywhere else in the world. From crunchy banh mi’s to endless bowls of noodles, you’ll never run out of amazing options. Two of our absolute go-to’s are Bo Ne and Cao Lau.

Vietnam is known for its light a refreshing beer that pairs perfectly with the tropical heat. In the south you’ll see lots of Bia Saigon, while in the north it’s all about Bia Hanoi.
