About the Bol Beaches
Bol is a small village on Brac Island that mixes modern Croatia with a peaceful small town feel. We made an unexpected visit on our trip to the southern islands, and it ended up being one of our favorite places in all of Croatia.
While the town of Bol isn’t as well known as its close counterparts of Hvar and Vis, its beaches certainly are! In fact, Bol is home to the internationally known Golden Horn Beach which is considered to be the most famous in Croatia.
So if you’re looking for where to swim in Bol, Golden Horn is a given. However, as you’ll see on this list, there are a few other beaches in Bol Croatia that are just as epic.
5 Best Beaches in Bol Croatia
5. Beach Port Bol
As you’re pulling up to the ferry port you won’t have to look far to find one of the best beaches in Bol. The crystal clear water of this lesser known Croatian island can be seen right as you step off the boat.
It’s rare to see such a beautiful beach in any port area, even on an island like Bol. If you’re as adventurous as us you’ll drop your bags and waste no time going for a swim.
4. Grabov Rat Beach
This beach may not be for everyone and is slightly different from the other beaches in Bol Croatia. We actually were exploring Brac Island and stumbled up Grabov Rat Beach by a mistake. Much to our surprise when we turned the corner to see everyone naked!
Yes, this is a nude beach! So why do the nudists love it so much? Well clearly because it’s one of the most gorgeous, and best beaches in Bol. So even if you want to keep your clothes on just head to one of the many coves and find your own slice of paradise.
3. Martinica Beach
Not many people venture past the famous Dominican Monastery Church. Little do they know, right around the corner from this 15th century masterpiece is the perfect spot if you’re looking for where to swim in Bol.
This stretch of beach on Brac Island is absolutely jaw dropping, and stays virtually unvisited by tourists. Martinica is perfect for both laying out to get a tan, or for taking a long walk on the beach. You may not want to go too far though, as the nude beach we mentioned is right around the corner!
2. Golden Horn Beach
Also known as Zlatni Rat, this beach is actually the most famous in all of Croatia. Its unique shape jetting out into the Adriatic Sea makes it a must visit if you’re traveling through the southern islands.
Many day trips are available to Bol Croatia from Split and Hvar just to get here. Wind constantly changes the shape of the horn, and there are plenty of fun water activities to enjoy.
Golden Horn is not only one of the best beaches in Bol Croatia, but has made many of the top beaches in the world lists as well. Check out our complete guide to Zlatni Rat here before your visit.
1. Bijela Kuca Beach
There’s no doubt Golden Horn will come up first if you’re searching for where to swim in Bol. Despite that, we found a more magical beach to go to on Brac Island. Also known as Cresent Beach, this small cove is about 15 minutes from the center of town.
It’s close, but just far enough away to not be overcrowded by tourists. There is even a small restaurant on the corner where you can try a local drink. So pull up a chair, and take in the view of what we consider the best beaches in Bol!

Thanks for this. We are in Bol right now with our twin seven year old boys. It’s the off season here but we’ve had fantastic weather and particularly enjoyed the Crescent Beach. While slightly chilly for ocean swimming, the lack of crowds has been perfect for us. We had the crescent beach to ourselves and there were probably less than 20 people total at Zlatni Rat. There are only a few restaurants open however.
Yes we had the same experience! Water is a bit chilly, but it was so nice having the beaches all to ourselves. Enjoy ( :
