While there are many different Singapore light shows, there are two that stand out over the others. Join us for the best light shows in Singapore that no one should miss. As you’ll see, you can even experience them both in one night!
Why You Can’t Miss a Singapore Light Show
Singapore light shows are just one of the many things that draw travelers to the city. During the day, you can explore the endless hawker centers and taste street food from all around Southeast Asia.
You will also love visiting the tropical Gardens by the Bay and seeing the futuristic Supertrees. Aside from that, there are so many different neighborhoods to discover that represent the multi-cultural nature of this unique city.
Our favorite area to stay in is Chinatown, and we love stopping in for a meal at Little India’s Tekka Food Centre. Also, be sure to take a walk down Haji Lane and grab an original Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel.
Still, know that the real magic happens after it gets dark. This is when the Singapore light shows illuminate the waterfront and nearby Supertree Grove.
Seeing a Singapore light show is the best way to end your day and tie all your fun activities together. Due to the staggered times, you can even two Singapore light shows in one night!

2 Best Singapore Light Shows
Marina Bay Sands Light Show Singapore
The Marina Bay Sands Light Show is the most popular as it can be viewed from multiple places around the Singapore harbor. It combines water effects and advanced lasers to form a beautiful display above the city.
This incredible show takes place every night for the mass of onlookers in the downtown area. You can easily get here by taking the Singapore train system to the Bayfront MRT station.
For 15 minutes, you will stand in awe as the lights and water fountain jets shoot into the sky! We highly recommend including it in a 2 day Singapore itinerary like this one.
The best part is there are so many fun places to watch it from. One of our favorites is right next to the famous Merlion Statue along the waterfront in Merlion Park. You can also stand directly in front of the water jets to see it up close in front of the shops at the Marina Bay Sands.
Yet, if you want the ultimate experience you’ll need to stay at the resort! By booking a room at Marina Bay Sands hotel (check the current prices), you can view the 15-minute show from the infinity pool on the 57th floor. Below is our article about the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Light Show and the times it goes off.
Marina Bay Light Show Times:
Sunday to Thursday: 8pm & 9pm
Friday & Saturday: 8pm, 9pm & 10pm

Gardens by the Bay Singapore Light Show
Another one of the best places to watch a Singapore Light Show is inside Gardens by the Bay. This huge outdoor park holds incredible vertical gardens to explore. It’s also home to the 2nd largest indoor waterfall in the world, the iconic Supertree Grove, and OCBC Skyway which sits above.
This area is well worth visiting during the day, but at night the Supertree lights up with a beautiful symphony of music. The Garden Rhapsody show plays nightly in 15-minute intervals and even takes on different themes depending on the season.
One of our favorite times to view the sound and light show is for their Christmas special! It’s a great opportunity to get in the holiday cheer with the songs of Singapore.
Hands down, the Supertrees light show is one of our favorite things to do at night. There are several vantage points to take in the show from. However, by simply laying down a blanket and looking up, you’ll have an unreal view of the light and music show.
You can even walk the OCBC Skyway at night for an additional cost and see this popular attraction from above. The Gardens by the Bay light show goes off at 7:45pm and 8:45pm every night. Be sure to check out our in-depth guide below before your visit.

How to See Both Singapore Light Shows in 1 Night
Are you only traveling to Singapore for a short time and want to experience as much as possible? Then know that you can see the two Singapore light shows in 1 night! You can do this by first going to the Supertree Grove show.
Once it’s over you might see a rush of people trying to make the next show at the Marina Bay Sands Harbor. Honestly, we have tried to do this but we ended up missing most of the show. We also couldn’t get a great view due to how crowded the area was.
Instead, we recommend waiting for the later Maria Bay Sands show. This gives you plenty of time to walk around the harbor and make it to the Merlion statue for a great view.
If you want to see the water show up close then make sure to stay on the Marina Bay Sands Side of the harbor. Whether you plan to see both shows in one night or experience them at different times, you’re sure to have a blast!
More Singapore Light Shows
The two above are the most popular light shows to experience in Singapore. However, there are a few other places to see an outdoor show from.
Sentosa Island Singapore Light Shows: Sentosa is an amazing resort island outside of the city center. The Wings of Time is fun for the whole family after spending the day at the amusement park.
ArtScience Museum Light Show in Singapore: This museum is worth a visit during the day and they also host the occasional light show. Be sure to check their official website for dates and times.
i Light Marina Bay Festival: For the ultimate Singapore light show experience, you’ll want to visit during their annual festival. It’s held every year during the first three weeks of June and is sure to captivate you.
What’s the Best Singapore Light Show?
Honestly, it would be impossible to pick just one! All of the Singapore light shows are awesome and unique in their own way.
Whenever visiting the city we make sure to try and see both the Marina Bay Sands light display AND Gardens by the Bay. Marina Bay has more of a wide view, while Gardens by the Bay feels intimate under the Supertrees.
Either way, you’re sure to have a magical experience. The vibrant colors will take you to a future world that you would never expect.
The best part about the Singapore Light Shows is that they’re a completely free attraction! Unless you want an alternate view on the OCBC Skyway, then you can just pick out a good spot to view it from under the night sky.
